The good news: Moen is one of the biggest plumbing brands in the US, and its owner Fortune Brands also runs Yale and August. The 2026 app change kept devices, history and settings, so owners did not need new hardware.
The bad news: Owners who missed the August 2026 deadline lost remote monitoring and automatic shutoff until they moved to the new app. Because alerts and shutoff run through Moen’s cloud, an outage or account problem matters more for a leak valve than for most smart devices.
If you own Moen Flo
- If you have not moved to the new Moen Flo app yet, do it now, so leak alerts and automatic shutoff keep working.
- Know where your manual water shutoff is, in case the app or cloud is ever down during a leak.
