The good news: Control4 runs on a controller in your home, so daily use does not depend on the internet. Its owner, ADI Global Distribution, is a large public company with billions in yearly sales.

The bad news: Most changes need a certified dealer, so if your installer goes out of business you need to find a new one. Remote access costs extra.

If you own Control4

  • Keep your dealer’s contact details, and ask for a copy of your project file.
  • Check what 4Sight includes before renewing it.
