Why 85%
- Starting point86%A fast-growing mid-size lighting company.
- Track record0No shutdowns so far.
- Works without the cloud−1Mostly cloud-based, with local control and Matter only on some models.
- Our estimate85%
The good news: Govee is one of the biggest sellers of smart lighting in the US, keeps launching products and has not switched off any of its devices.
The bad news: Most Govee lights are set up and controlled through Govee’s app and cloud, so older models without Matter or local control would lose a lot if that cloud ever went away.
If you own Govee
- When you buy new, pick models with Matter so they also work without the Govee app.
- Turn on local control in the Govee app for models that support it.
