Honeywell Home thermostats are in millions of American homes. The brand is made by Resideo, which licenses the Honeywell name, and its main weakness is a confusing mix of apps.

The good news: Resideo is a big company, and since spinning off its ADI distribution business in August 2026, products like thermostats are its main business, and a thermostat keeps heating and cooling your house even if the app side has problems.
The bad news: Depending on your model, you might use the Honeywell Home app, Total Connect Comfort or the newer First Alert app, and Resideo is pushing people toward First Alert. Some owners worry older Total Connect Comfort models will be left behind, though Resideo has not announced an end date.
If you own Honeywell Home
- Check which app your thermostat uses, and watch for emails about moving to the First Alert app.
- If you have a T-series model that supports Apple Home, add it as a local backup.
