The good news: With a Reolink camera, your video stays at home: on a memory card, a Reolink recorder or any recorder that speaks the open ONVIF standard. If Reolink disappeared, you could keep recording with other software.

The bad news: Reolink is a private company and shares little about its finances. Viewing your cameras away from home goes through Reolink’s servers unless you set up your own remote access.

If you own Reolink

  • Use a memory card or a recorder, so recordings never depend on Reolink’s cloud.
  • If you use Home Assistant or other video software, connect the cameras over RTSP or ONVIF.
