Sengled sold cheap smart bulbs that were everywhere a few years ago. In 2025 its servers started failing, and owners have been struggling with the app ever since.

The only good news: if you bought Sengled’s Zigbee or Matter bulbs, they do not depend on Sengled. Zigbee bulbs work with hubs like SmartThings or Home Assistant, and Matter bulbs work in any Matter app.
The bad news: Starting in June 2025, Sengled’s Wi-Fi bulbs and app went down for long stretches with almost no explanation. Amazon removed the Sengled Alexa skill around August 1, 2025, and owners were still reporting login and app failures in 2026. When we checked on October 13, 2026, Sengled’s US online store showed “Store unavailable” and its main website would not load. We would not buy Sengled Wi-Fi bulbs today.
If you own Sengled
- Move Zigbee bulbs to another Zigbee hub, such as SmartThings, Hubitat or Home Assistant.
- Add Matter bulbs directly to Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa or SmartThings.
- Plan to replace Wi-Fi bulbs that only work through the Sengled app.
