How to Check Your Detector
If you purchased a new off-brand detector recently, grab a step stool and take a closer look. Check the back or bottom of your white, circular, battery-operated alarm. You are looking for two specific identifiers printed directly on the plastic housing:
- FCC ID: 2ANDL-XR3
- Manufacture Date: 2023. DEC. 02
Safety Steps and Refunds
Do not just throw the unit in the trash right away. The CPSC advises leaving the current detector installed until you purchase a reliable replacement. You do not want to be left completely unprotected while waiting for a new one. Once you install a new alarm from a trusted brand, write the word “recalled” in permanent marker across the Treatlife unit.
